In my case, I don’t consider myself addicted to gambling. Rather, for lack of work, I started playing in online casinos just to distract me and take away some of my worries. Poker, Blackjack and sometimes the slots are the most entertaining.
My friend was a gambling addicted and it was really hard but we helped him online games besides bets... After a while he just forget about betting thanks lord
yep 100% I don’t think I’ll gamble as much. I’ve excluded myself from 7 casinos so far. I’m still fucked tho. Hope it works out
Gambling is always full of risks and therefore you need to take your mind off it because addiction is just an addiction that can be corrected. I was also addicted last year and thought it was the end of the world but my girlfriend helped me get rid of it, she went on a trip with me and we had a wonderful weekend. Over time, I could go on without playing poker for a few more weeks. This is unbelievable!

Being honest with your partner and asking them to help keep you in line is an invaluable tool, mine has been great and she really helped me get a grip back when i was spaffing loads on extra chilli buys.
So my advise to anyone ofc if you have a partner is be honest, tell them what you have been doing and ask them to help you manage your money better and give you an allowance to gamble with that you don't mind losing
I have been very lucky and am almost always in total control. There appears to be an "switch off mode" for most people when they lose and this protects them from addiction however for some the urge to gamble increases much more once they lose or have a big win.
One of my closest friends has suffered with a gambling addiction for the bulk of his adult life and the consequences of his gambling have had a huge impact on both himself and his family. He is now open about his shortcomings and shared all of the story with his family. To his surprise, after an initial bollocking, they accepted his affliction and have supported him ever since. The opening up to the people closest to him lifted a weight that allowed him to be normal again.
He now acts as a mentor for problem gamblers and is one of the happiest people I know. He always say to them if YOU are at the stage that YOU think you have a problem, it's 90% sure you actually do have a problem, it's only a question of degree.

It's really a nice step to realize it mate. I won't encourage you to keep trying with gambling, so hopefully you will find something satisfactory to enjoy. It worries me that you keep gambling even when I know you did because you lack of options. I wish you the strengh to keep apart from the gambling industry honestly, at least for a couple months before trying any way of control yourself
Yeah online gambling is way different too but its better and worse and its worse because its better. Most gamblers started at landbased and I know that routine well but there its almost as if you knew its a loss 99 out of a 100 and if its a win its because you walked out tripling your money. online skys the limit. You would consider your money lost before you walked in but it would usually be the cash you had on hand (I stopped taking the cards after a few tilts). Online I can just drain the whole fucking account so quick on a bad, shitty, fucked, horrible, lousy, not-even-close, fuck-all paying spins or hands or whatever while on my sofa, in my boxers. ridiculously quick.
Top that off I had a 6 month losing streak when I had a 200 daily deposit limit set , the day I took it off I broke that streak so that tin foiled the fuck out of me. Could never justify going back to it.
Solution: Keep a shit load of cash around . Honestly you can't put paper money into the laptop , doesn't work, tried it, it just gets squished in and comes out , no sound, nothing.
Will this end all the suffering ? no but it can end the "really bad" parts for some people god forbid the account doesn't survive your bad tilt night.
this doesn't scale, I am aware, at least it protects the most vulnerable.

You are absolutely right, gambling addiction exists and very often. Particularly vulnerable are people who are not gambling, those who have no sense of proportion. Once, I became a victim of this too. But, since then I have drawn many conclusions for myself, life has brought many lessons. I am a successful player and I know how to feel myself too. I listen to the sensations, when I get tired I go to rest. And I'm not only about fatigue but also about mental burnout and powerlessness. It is imperative to gain strength in order to play successfully and safely. Good luck with the upcoming games!
