With all of the really good weather and dry conditions the Old Course at St Andrews will hold little or no advantage for the longer hitters.

There are some quite tasty odds for some of the players who would benefit from this leveller.

My own selections (to be avoided if you want to have  a chance at winning) are:

1. Henrik Stenson 150/1 e/w to finish in top 14

2. Justin Thomas 20/1 e/w to finish in the top 8

3. Francesco Molinari 125/1 e/w to finish top 14

Good luck to everyone who has a punt on it and Come on Rory!

What a lovely surprise my outside bet for the Lv tournament came up trumps for me.

Henrik Stenson wins outright and fills up the old piggy bank. Quality always rises to the top no matter however ridiculous the odds are.

Jimbo

lt was a different event and it had a much reduced field so the odds were 66-1 and I had a fiver on him to win.

I had the pleasure of playing with him in a pro-am a few years ago and I was massively impressed with him both as a golfer and an individual such that I look out for him in the events.

Disappointingly he chased the Saudi cash on the breakaway events though
