Ok, so maybe a tough subject.
For me and Jimbo at least, age gating our videos isn't the end due to the following we have and we super appreciate it!
But it is now coming to light that there is a way around having to age gate.
From what i understand, as long as i do either of the following when uploading a gambling video, then i don't have to age gate;
- Play at a casino that i have zero affiliation to (no age gate required on the video) (cannot mention other brands) (CAN promote gamblersden.com)
- Play at a casino i do promote, but hide all their branding and make sure a logo or something is never shown. (same as above)
I believe this is also the same for streaming at twitch.
As long as the overlay only includes gamblersden.com branding and nothing casino specific, then we aren't doing anything wrong.
I'd like thoughts and ideas anyway.
Food for thought
I think the main question you and Jimbo should be asking is what do you want from YouTube videos? I don't think you monetize them so you aren't missing anything by Age Gating there.
Do you feel that the gating will choke your growth or views to an unacceptable level? If no, the age gate doesn't matter. If yes, then you should lean to getting around it.
If you get around it, are you then breaking any agreement you have with your affiliates? I think this would be a big swinger on what you do. Advertising sites but not using them would be peculiar and wouldn't do much for the affiliate site/brand.
I don't really think about it when you use Mr Green. You play slots, don't care where.
I think this one has no bearing in our thoughts although i appreciate you asking us. Either way we get to see you play slots. I think you have to go with what keeps the business growing as long as it works with the casinos you work with.
If the gating stops you streaming though.......do what you can to bypass it.
