So the lads do the giveaways each month which is really nice of them. They don't have to but the arrangement is in place with each casino so why not.
Currently you only have to have signed up via the GD link to the casino to enter. No deposit required. It wasn't always like this and I can understand why this is if the lads get sign up fees for each new member. They are running a business so no-one has issue with this but sign-ups will dry up and dwindle.
I think the giveaways should revert back to the old system where the sign up condition remains but to enter you must have been active at the casino during the giveaway month. This means you have deposited and played (even if just £10). We all know that deposits help the lads but their percentage is pittance so I do not suggest it on this basis.
What is to stop someone from signing up their family and friends, who never have to deposit, thus giving them 3 to 8 times more chance of winning telling them they will split the prize?
How many of the 6396 members on here have ever posted other than to say they have a problem, moan about a casino or say thanks for winning? Shall we be generous and says about 300? How many are signed up simply for giveaways? How many mithering people do you get if the draws aren't done on the 1st.......erm, when is the draw, did I miss the draw?
This is something that has been on my thoughts for a while.
Thought I’d rely to this. I’m not an active member on the site but I’d happily say that every single video the lads put up I’ve watched and have subscribed to their YouTube accounts. still unsure on the potato vibe which Craig’s been rocking but each to their own I suppose lol!
i am also an active member regarding casinos and I’d happily say that when opening an account via their links I’ve made deposits and played with casinos. Currently I am active most on Las Vegas casino which I’m happy with their services.
i get the frustration regarding multiple accounts or whatnot but I guess that’s why they do the checks and make sure to validate accounts which have been won?

Appreciate the reply as you are a draw winner, congrats.
Yeah, it doesn't apply to everyone and I wouldn't expect every person to be active on the forum. No other streamer (to my knowledge) has a giveaway just for signing up. There was someone who won not so long back who the lads say checked out after checks but was using 2 separate accounts. I too play at the sites and tend not to enter a draw if I haven't. Some months I may not have played but then there have been months I have not entered.
Maybe the lads can put my moind at ease.
Everyone who does these types of giveaways are required to offer a free to enter option by law, unless they have the appropriate licensing in place, which would then make it a paid for lottery.
If someone is telling you to deposit & spend a certain amount or you won't be allowed to enter & also have no free option in place (and no licenses to do so either) then they are breaking all kind of laws.
I've linked something for you to read at your own pleasure regarding this.
Cheers Jimbo. Interesting read, especially the sell tickets win a house. See lots of that type of thing.
Just a couple of thoughts...
1. From things Craig has posted I was of the understanding that most of their affiliate income (if not all, for any newly added casinos) came from one-off payments at sign-up as opposed to profit share - which would presumably mean that restricting prize draws to those that deposit would drive no additional revenue for Gamblers Den.
2. Even though it is free to enter just by opening an account / logging in once a month, it doesn't seem to attract many freeloaders given that most draws barely scraped 100 entries for the last set, even though they covered a two month period.
Am I right that some / all of the draws are funded directly by the casinos rather than GD as well?
I mean, I'm with you, I've not gone out of my way to sign up just for draws so would prefer the better odds of winning if it was restricted to depositers but I get now (from Jimbo's reply) why that isn't an option.
Our revenue is a mixture of hybrids and CPA Only, so some brands we run we see nothing in terms of revenue share and others is mixed for a first time deposit and further revenue generated by continued play.
And for the giveaways themselves, we fund them all.
Yes weemonk 👏👏👏👏
I always make sure I deposit and play to join the giveaway each month. I know it's not a requirement but it feels against the spirit of the giveaway to just try and freeload.
Why don't you join us permanently
So i'll add my two pence for what dog shit that's worth... 🤣
- Me and jimbo fund the giveaways directly from the gamblersden company bank account, i don't think any of our giveaways are covered by the casinos, actually MR Q might pay us the giveaway money on top of what we invoice them each month
- I'm also surprised we only get 100ish entries per month for the giveaways, seen as you can basically enter them for free every month with no financial commitment, but hey, the smaller the community who enter the more chance you regulars have ☺ i expected we would end up on one of those forums where people post free to enter giveaways and stuff and then we would be in a world of hurt, because the secret would be out lol.
- To be honest, if people want to tell their family and friends to enter the giveaways, i have no issue with this. It looks good on our stats when we review with the casinos each month, because we have helped them open more accounts, which means we can barter better deals going forward etc. Not only that they might opt in to marketing and we get to send them emails with new casinos etc which is obviously good for productivity.
- We have systems in place to prevent duplicate accounts, these are actually quite smart and generally catch anyone trying to enter the giveaway multiple times from the same device/ip/location
How much longer we continue to operate the way we do comes down to the UKGC and what restrictions they put in place going forward. UK operators have lost so much income because of the source of wealth stuff and restricting their players, which in turn means Gamblersden takes big hits.
As a company though it's doing well enough to sustain £3k + a month giveaways (which obviously means it's taking more than that per month) and as long as it's making profit, we will keep doing it.
we pay for the MRQ giveaway too
Also, just to add to this, We're thinking of adding a requirement to the giveaways.. which would be a certain amount of forum post and community contribution just to make sure people are being active enough to justify the win for those who do not or cannot afford to deposit on the casinos
Let me know thoughts
Thanks for clarifying Craig and Jimbo. I remember you use to avoid the law about lottery's and raffles but offering a free way to enter via a letter to enter in the post. What made you change that? Is it just because you want bigger numbers to help bargain with casinos like Craig said?
Think it's reasonable to add some sort of alternate entry requirement just have to make sure it blocks people rather than let's anyone join and then if they win they just don't get the prize. Think that would be unfair amongst the people who actually qualify to win the prize if people just spite enter to take away a prize.
