I have little doubt that there will be a few here who determined that their gambling habits would change in 2022 as part of a New Years Resolution.

Many years ago at the beginnings of the internet poker boom, I kept pretty good records of all sessions mainly to determine how much I was winning or losing and to keep track by way of an hourly rate.

The big thing that surprised me after a few years was not the monetary ups and downs - it was the extent of the time spent on my pastime.

I know that £100 can go a long war at 20p a spin yet even in the event of a cashout or indeed a bustout, how many folks would regard the amount of time spent as wasted time as this would possibly dwarf the importance of the £100 made or lost during this time.

I dare say most people could add up both deposits and cashouts and compare them months later and regard the profits or losses in monetary terms as a retrospective reflection on their gambling performance. How many though would look at the time spent and seriously reflect on what else they could have done with that time?

Just something to consider for all those New Year Resolution makers whether or not you have stuck to them or not.

Definitely worth a thought, but then for most people gambling is a fun past time activity.

would I look back on my total Tarkov gameplay hours and ponder alternative ways of spending my time? definitely not if I enjoy what I'm doing

Jimbo,

I agree for all of the casual gamblers this is not likely to be an issue. It would only be for those who are looking to curtail their own play.

The point I was trying to make is that many people see the results of gambling through the prism of financial gains or losses and not through any other impact.

My spare time is spent watching Youtube, TV or films and occasionally getting out to see friends. Sometimes when you're bored of that, I love for a sesh that goes on for hours and hours as something different. The time spent gambling doesn't really take time away from something else for me.

I have never kept a diary or logged my play.

Feels a bit to calculated for me, but then again i'm not a very organised person so that filters across to my play lol.

I do wish i knew how deep i was since starting though.
