Forgot to mention - 

The system puts it there, if you dont select it yourself.}
This lends credence to the theory that the stones you click are pre determined, and the remaining symbols have places they can go do.

Just like how in secrets of XMAS -  if you dont choose the snowman on the last screen, and you haven't already unlocked it it is ALWAYS candle wild.
