The UKGC is getting its act together at last and within the near future gambling businesses will have access to information on customers through a regulatory sandbox.
This will hopefully allow the really vulnerable problem gamblers to be identified more easily and allow the operators to act quickly and responsibly to alleviate harm
One of the key issues/problems may be for individual customers who have self excluded either voluntarily or have been excluded by a gambling company. This may or may not lead to other gambling companies regarding this customer as an at above risk proposition. I have no way of knowing how many customers are in this position but I do know myself that I was incorrectly excluded from GUTS casino (the same licence as VideoSlots) and I am no longer allowed to play there. As a self excluded player would this result in other companies extending this self exclusion to their products?
I suspect that it may well do and my fear would be that this may ultimately extend to restrictions on Pokerstars and Party Poker just because an over zealous live chat operator was unable to handle a customer complaint properly.
Hmmm. I once self excluded from Skybet back in 2009. I self excluded from Casumo as soon as all the problems started getting reported by players. WHG deem me as not being able to afford to gamble. LeoVegas the same.
Yeah, I'll probably not be able to play anywhere at some point.
