I know there was some petition work on here previously around bringing back autoplay (IIRC)... not sure what connections the names in here have, but wondered if there was scope / contacts to push other ideas?
We now have a box / line / section of the screen to let us know time playing and our profit / loss but two things IMO would be great additions.
Number of spins played - in the absence of autoplay to track our use
The RTP of the game - mentioned a fair amount by
On the RTP point, I wonder how long till all UK casinos have removed any hint of games with an RTP north of 96%?
I like that idea a lot. Give a spin counter next to the profit/loss. I checked another casino I play at the other day and they dropped their RTP on the games.
I would honestly love to see the RTP on the main screen of every slot, there's plenty of room on the screen for them to do that and I actually mention that again in one of next weeks videos.
I know for a fact if I loaded up a slot and saw 90%, which at some casinos Play n Go's are at 90%, I'm hitting the close app straight away, no questions asked, especially if the exact same slot is at 96% at other casinos, there's just no way I would be playing it at 90% and a lot of people would be the same, hence the reason its not on the main screen but its hidden away in the menu..
The spin counter is a brilliant idea as well as something like that is needed, why they took auto spins away in the 1st place I'll never know, it was the best thing ever to keep a track of what I was spending as it had a built in loss limit, also they must've known that everyone would just use auto click, my daughter used auto click for games like Minecraft & Roblox at 6 years old lol
I wish I knew someone to give ideas to as something needs to change, playing slots here in the UK have got so much worse with rules like no auto spins, I know there needs to be rules and guidelines but things like no auto spins is plain stupid and makes things worse..
From my perspective and from those posting on this thread the suggested amendments appear entirely sensible. The problem though is that the UKGC are not seeking to improve the playing experience of knowledgeable players - they are seeking to save vulnerable players from harm.
If you were to canvas the 6,000 members on here I'd estimate under a quarter would even know what the RTP even is let alone feel the need to check it out.
The autoplay option being barred was as a result of surveys taken from a relatively small sample of problem gamblers (who probably see every gambling option as harmful). It is a perverse decision that may actually lead to more problems than it solves.
The P&L per session is likely a good thing but when the session is reset by the casino every x minutes by exiting the game (as a warning/reminder to the player) there seems little point anyway
The eradication of bonus buys whilst allowing games like Slingo is just emblematic of their lack of any genuine understanding of how dangerous each of these particular gambling offerings actually is. If Slingo type games were restricted and bonus buys capped at say £20 that would have resulted in much less risk imho.
I get what you're saying The spin count is a bit more spurious. I know we're probably in the minority of planning for 100 spins (say) and leaving a game if it doesn't bonus, rather than a majority that likely deposit £20 and leave at £0 if they've not landed a bonus.
You always hear moans about 'games playing so much worse lately' or that 'they don't bonus as often as they used to' etc, which I get is part gamblers fallacy from running good when they first played it, but will also be influenced by the fact that they had always been playing a 96% version of a slot and are now (unknowingly) playing a 91% version on the same site. I get that is calculated over billions of spins, but in essence it means they are now losing an extra £5 for every £100 they wager, which will rinse them quicker and potentially lead to them tilting / chasing.
To me the RTP is something that is very important and you are correct and if it were highlighted on every game at the outset of clicking it I have no doubt it would raise awareness ( and be a good thing) I am however always amazed that so few people actually even know or care about what it is.
I had planned to do a post on this a while ago but never had the time to do so.
