Dear Everyone.

So I was playing this Bar X 7, you know the kind, 30p a go, £25 jackpot, hold 2 reels and the other one's guaranteed, that thing!  And I'd chugged about £50-60 into it and finally got a hold on 2 7's.  Yaay, jackpot, if it holds I've got most of my dosh back, can walk.

Did it hold.  Did it ever - it held ELEVEN TIMES!!!

I know vaguely there's non-standard programs for those things but what the dog and duck was THAT thing on!!

Anyone know?

Yours respectfully

Chris. (Bar X 7 freak, hardly play anything else!)

Only just seen the response - it was a real machine in a real arcade but  I THINK it was on what's called a 'chuzzy' program?  The only reason I THINK that is because since then I've found a YouTube vid. with a Bar X 7 doing the same sorta thing.  The guy owned it, he wasn't playing it in an arcade, and he said it was on a 'Chuzzy' kit, also known as a 'Bone Board' because it was bone shaped  - it was, kinda! - and it plugged in on top of the main board and altered the program.

Apparently there was huge outcry in the Electrocoin world when those boards were invented.  But nowadays there's 3 versions of Bar X 7 made by at least 2 different companies - there's the Electrocoin original and there's others that SAY Electrocoin on the outside but a repair dude told me they're actually made by Bell Fruit.  I RECKON the one I got awesomely lucky on was an Electrocoin that had been chuzzied because the whole gameplay was different - if you held 2, you got the third one (of course, that's their reason for being played!) but on the original Electrocoin programs the third one kinda thuds straight in.  On this one, it span forever before finding the third!

There's a £100 jackpot one that's on another program again.  It's got wild symbols on it and 3 of the wild symbols - they differ according to the paper reels but they've all got A Wild Symbol, these ones - and they've got an even schneakier gimmick.  If you hold 2, the third one coming in's only about 80% guaranteed.  BUT - if it doesn't come in that time, the NEXT time two hold  it'll guaranteed come in and guaranteed - as far as I've ever seen - hold on the win!  And that includes the jackpot.  So if you hold 2 wilds, let the other one go and the other wild doesn't come in - you still get A win because it's 2 wilds  but not the jackpot  - the NEXT time it does it, you know the jackpot will hold.  Thing IS - how LONG before the next time it does it!?!  THAT'S when it REALLY tilts you!  (You CAN force it but from personal experience I wouldn't  advise getting TOO  tilted on it!)

Machiavellian minds, these programmers.  Machiavellian minds.

Yours respectfully

Chris.

Same just happend to me but only on the 40X,  still, nice win, thought I'd check the game rules and it does state in there that can hold 10 times on a roll in win and a combination of holds for nudges and nudge and hold, as its a 'realistic' game it should be the same in the arcade too.
